PDA hosts Tabadlab to discuss policy-led digital transformation

July 22, 2026 Islamabad

Digital public infrastructure is as much a question of policy as it is of technology.

This thinking framed a meeting at PDA Headquarters, where the Pakistan Digital Authority hosted Umar Nadeem, Chief Executive Officer of Tabadlab, to take an ongoing collaboration further. The meeting was chaired by Dr. Sohail Munir, Chairperson, PDA, with Aamer Rana, Member, PDA; Dr. Sahibzada Ali Mahmud, Chief DPI Officer; and Sophia Hasnain, Chief of Staff.

Building on earlier engagements, both sides looked at where policy advisory, research, and institutional capacity can strengthen Pakistan's Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) agenda. The discussion emphasized the importance of trusted digital ecosystems, secure data exchange, interoperability, and citizen-centric digital public services.

They also discussed applying policy and governance frameworks across the sectors where the need is most immediate, including education, health, social protection, climate resilience, and food systems. Tabadlab shared its expertise in public policy, governance reform, strategic communications, and implementation planning, and both organizations discussed opportunities for Pakistan to contribute to regional and global DPI efforts.

Evidence-based policy turns infrastructure into services people actually use, and Institutional collaborations like this are how that half of the work gets done.
